A family-oriented camping club for Ford employees, their families, and the general public.
The Ford Wagon Train is a family oriented camping club available to Ford Employees, their families, and the general public. There are two active units located in Buffalo, New York and Dearborn Michigan. Members of the Dearborn Unit of the Ford Wagon Train choose to camp together on the third weekend of every month starting in April and ending in October. All of these campouts are at campgrounds reasonably close to Dearborn, Michigan.
What We Do
Monthly Campouts
We camp together on the third weekend of every month from April through October at campgrounds reasonably close to Dearborn, Michigan.
Family Activities
Activities for children including preps (ages 4-7), preteens (ages 8-12), and teens (ages 13-16) are held during the day.
Group Events
Family activities like bingo, road rallies, races, and hobo pie making. Group dinners on Saturday evenings and breakfast on Sunday mornings.
A Typical Campout Weekend
Here's what to expect when you join us for a weekend of camping and community.
Friday Evening
8:00 PM: Welcome Wagon where campers can register and catch up with one another. Then it's time to relax around the many campfires.
Saturday
During the day: Activities for children of all ages. Campers provide their own lunch.
5:00 PM: Group dinner. The main dish is either provided by the club or pot luck, and families provide sides and desserts.
7:00 PM: Family activities followed by campfires.
Sunday Morning
8:00 AM: Traditional breakfast provided by the club, then it's time to break camp and travel home.
